Askar SQA106

The Askar SQA106 is a premium quintuplet Petzval apochromatic refractor designed specifically for astrophotography.

Askar SQA106The Askar SQA106 features a five-element lens system, including two Super Low Dispersion (SD) glass elements, effectively minimizing chromatic aberrations. With a 106mm aperture and a 509mm focal length, it achieves a fast f/4.8 focal ratio, ideal for capturing detailed celestial objects.

The integrated Petzval design provides a flat field, supporting a 55mm image circle suitable for full-frame and medium-format sensors. The central star point has an RMS radius of less than 1.7 µm, and the star point at the corner is less than 2.2 µm, ensuring sharp star images across the field.

The SQA106 is equipped with a robust 2.8-inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser, offering 30mm of precise focusing travel. The focuser is compatible with most motorized systems, facilitating automated focusing during imaging sessions. A 360° rotator with a precision scale allows for easy framing adjustments.

The telescope includes an integrated tube ring with a hollow design to reduce weight. The ring features multiple M4 and M6 threaded holes for attaching accessories and a multifunctional handle with a slotted finder base. A standard Losmandy-style 300mm dovetail plate is provided for secure mounting on various equatorial mounts.

The dew shield features a retractable design, allowing it to be extended during use. It serves to shield the lens from unwanted external and internal light, minimizing glare and stray reflections. Additionally, it provides physical protection to the lens, safeguarding it from environmental elements such as dew and dust.

The Askar SQA106 comes with an Oxford cloth carrying case, M68, M54, and M48 adapters for connecting different cameras, and two finder bases for additional accessories.
