Kson Olympus 102 APO

The Kson Olympus AS102 APO is a classic air spaced FPL51 and Lanthanum Doublet refractor with a generous f/12 (f/15 with aperture cap) focal length.

Kson Olympus 102 APODesigned to for excellent visual observing for planetary, lunar, double star and some DSO viewing, it offers one of the longest focal length modern achromats available, designed for getting up close and personal with extraordinary contrast and clarity.

The Kson Olympus 102 APO offers a primary lens which is hand-figured by Kson and features excellent spherical correction and smooth surfaces. It is fully multicoated with edge blackened lenses. Every lens cell is factory checked for collimation and artificial star tested for quality assurance.

The telescope tube features ray-traced baffles to eliminate stray light and also has the inner surfaces painted matt black for superior contrast. The additional 2″ draw tube extension allows the scope to be used in a large variety of optical configurations and eyepieces. It also allows for the use of binoviewers with a 110-140mm light path without an optical corrector allowing a substantially wider native view to be enjoyed.

The Kson Olympus 102 APO package includes a sturdy 2″ CG dual-speed Crayford style focuser with compression ring and Kson’s unique tri-lock screw system which accepts 2″ eyepieces, DSLR’s and 2″ accessories. The extra-long 330mm fully retractable dew shield (also painted matt black inside) allows for easy mobility and transport and provides dew protection. The refractor ships with Kson’s own rube rings and long 300mm dovetail bar for additional stability on your mount.

Also included is a Kson Ortho II Volcano 4.5mm Carbon Fiber Eyepiece as well as an 80mm aperture cap to convert it to f/15 and reduce Moon glare. The package is rounded out with a nylon travel bag.
