The new QSI 700 Series cameras are the company’s latest high-end mono astroimaging cameras and include the QSI 760 and QSI 726.
The new QSI 700 Series cameras offer CMOS sensors that are back-illuminated with native 16-bit digitization. QE is 90% and readout is a fast 120 million pixels per second over USB3. The cameras offer built in 2” filter wheels are mechanically indexed to ensure the most precise location for perfect flat fields. The fused silica windows are dew resistant and coated on both sides with high transmission anti-reflective coating to minimize halos. The cameras use a highly efficient 2-stage Peltier cooler that draws less current and delivers more cooling.
The full frame QSI 760 is the flagship of the new QSI 700 Series cameras and incorporates the Sony IMX455 with an integrated 2”/50mm filter wheel which minimizes back focus, essential for the widest compatibility with focal reducers. Cable clutter is reduced thanks to the integrated 7 position filter wheel, two USB2 in sockets and power out. Power sockets have threaded connections for maximum reliability.
The QSI 726 is an excellent astroimaging camera as the 28mm diagonal Sony IMX571 maximizes the sharpest parts of a telescope’s image and is less affected by coma and vignetting than larger sensors. As with the QSI 760 camera, cable clutter is reduced thanks to the integrated 2” 36mm filter wheel, USB2 in sockets and power out.
