The Askar 1x Flattener provides the ability to enhance the functionality of Askar apos such as the Askar140 APO Triplet Refractor without adjusting the focal ratio providing the full focal length of the these telescopes.
The Askar 1x Flattener offers a CNC machined structure to provide a flat, even field, diminishing coma around the edges of the images captured and enhancing detail significantly. The flattener achieves pinpoint star all the way to the edges of the frame.
It offers three lens elements that support a full frame 44mm image circle, correcting curvature around the edges of the image, resulting in the sharpest of stars and erasure of coma. It does not alter the focal ratio or the focal length of the Askar 140 APO Triplet Refractor maintaining its native f/7 speed and 980mm focal length.
The Askar 1x Flattener offers the flexibility of using a number of adapters, including those provided with the flattener. The front thread utilizes a M841 thread to connect directly to the a variety of telescopes. On the camera side, M681, M540.75, and M480.75 connectors are included to attach a variety of optical assemblies. An additional M480.75 2-inch filter thread allows for filters to be threaded directly to the imaging train.
