The Vespera Smart Telescope from Vaonis utilizes the company’s technology developed for its Stellina telescope to create a smart imaging instrument. Vaonis offers a quadruplet 50 mm lens, formed by two groups of two lenses made of lanthanum glass powered by a motorized alt-azimuth mount. Vaonis has equipped this telescope with auto-initialization, auto-alignment, auto-tracking, and auto-focusing with its Star Field Recognition technology.
The Vespera telescope utilizes the Sony IMX462 back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a 1/2.8 format, a 2.9um pixel size, and a 1290 x 1080 resolution. In addition to this high sensitivity sensor, Vaonis has included their own electronics to ensure heat management is optimal. Within the Vaonis app, you can access image processing and have your choice of composition and framing.
The Vespera telescope utilizes auto-initialization and will use your mobile device’s GPS, star pattern recognition, and astrometry to calibrate itself. Once your device is set up, the telescope will be ready in less than 5 minutes.
The Vespera uses GoTo technology for auto-alignment and once you select a target in the app or enter celestial coordinates, the body of the scope will move and point to the object automatically. Driven by a motor and controlled by the integrated computer, the Vespera will automatically track your celestial object and compensate for the Earth’s rotation. The Vespera’s auto-focus feature helps ensure you will not have to make manual adjustments to make sure your photos are as sharp as possible.
