Announced in May of this year, the DWARF 3 smart telescope is now available for ordering. The DWARF 3 is engineered with a dual-lens configuration: a telephoto lens optimized for deep-sky object imaging and a wide-angle lens for panoramic sky views offering a flexible optical system that provides detailed imaging capabilities, ranging from individual galaxies and nebulae to expansive star fields, ensuring a comprehensive observational experience.
The DWARF 3 smart telescope is equipped with a Sony IMX678 sensor, part of Sony’s STARVIS 2 series. This sensor features larger 2µm pixels, enhancing sensitivity and reducing noise, which is particularly beneficial for low-light astrophotography. The IMX678 sensor offers a resolution of 8.3 megapixels (3840×2160), providing high-quality, detailed images of celestial objects.
The telescope features AI-powered capabilities, including automatic star-finding, accurate object tracking, and real-time image stacking. These advanced systems simplify the user experience by minimizing the need for manual adjustments for a hands-off astrophotography experience.
The DWARF 3 operates via a dedicated smartphone application that provides a user-friendly interface for image capture, processing, and sharing. This system simplifies astrophotography workflows, rendering the device suitable for those with varying levels of expertise in astronomy and astroimaging.
The telescope includes an internal rechargeable battery with extended operation capabilities and USB-C compatibility, for uninterrupted use during prolonged observation sessions.
