DeepSkyStacker 5.1.8 Beta 1 has recently been released.
As the publisher notes, “This release is all about finishing the conversion of the code to use Qt instead of MFC. That said, there are a few bug fixes, and a number of enhancements as well changes made to improve code quality and performance. If you have the time to give this a thorough test, I’d be most grateful. If you use a non-English version (especially Traditional Chinese), I’d much appreciate feedback on poor translations from English. Please report any problems to the groups.io mailing list at https://groups.io/g/DeepSkyStacker
DeepSkyStacker is a freeware for astrophotographers that makes it easier to manage the pre-processing steps of deep sky imaging. It simplifies registering, stacking, post processing and saving the resulting image.
After an imaging session DeepSkyStacker takes your images (light frames, darks frames, offset/bias frames, flat frames) and prepares them for post-processing. DeepSkyStacker Live provides the ability to oversee the result of an ongoing imaging session being created as the images are downloaded from the imaging camera.
The program is meant to be used with post processing software such as PixInsight and does not provide post processing features. The latest release information on DeepSkyStacker 5.1.8 Beta 1 is available at https://github.com/deepskystacker/DSS.
