The new Acuter MAKSYGO-60 Mini Maksutov Dobson Telescope is a fully functional Dobsonian telescope with the great advantage of an easy-to-remove cover, which allows users to explore the fascinating interior of the high-quality Maksutov Cassegrain optical system and understand its function. This compact and easily transportable telescope is ideal for observing and learning about the starry sky, as well as taking photos with a smartphone.
As APM’s Markus Ludes notes “This is the most perfect travel telescope and the optical quality of the little 60mm Maksutov Cassegrain is terrific. I was able to split the famous Douple/Douple Epsilon Lyra. I made a star test video which shows the outstanding high quality Maksutov Cassegrain spherical correction. The rear port of the scope is 0.965″ but it is delivered with a hybrid 0.965″/1.25″ star diagonal. I fitted a Baader Astrosolar and it shows very nice solar spots. The focusing works with zero visible image shift and the primary mirror has 3 collimation screws at the outer back end. The delivered eyepieces perform much better than would expect, offering good eye relief, field of view, sharp to the edge and a contrast and sharpness on axis.
The Acuter MAKSYGO-60 Mini Maksutov Dobson Telescope package consists of the 60mm Maksutov Cassegrain telescope with 750mm focal length,10mm and 20mm eyepieces, an Amici prism for image alignment, a 6×21 finder with erect image and a smartphone adapter. The telescope can be extended as required with optionally available standard 1.25″ eyepieces. The package is presented in an attractive gift box with a carrying handle for easy transport.
