Astrowl Box

The new Astrowl Box is an ultra-portable imaging system which provides everything you need in a small box (camera sensor, 4″ display, internal program) that can be inserted in your telescope focuser like an eyepiece.

Astrowl Box The Astrowl Box offers similar automatic and easy image processing functionalities as of the new wave of smart telescopes including stacking, frame aligning, light pollution correction, extra image processing filters and more. The Astrowl Box has its own Wi-Fi access point, so you can connect to it to set its parameters.

The Astrowl Box was originally released with the Sony IMX462 sensor, and the latest version has been designed around the highly sensitive Sony IMX283 sensor that can be found in many astronomy cameras. Realtime image processing is done by the recently released Raspberry Pi5 which is 3x faster than the previous Pi4.

The company is also releasing a DYI version of the Astrowl Box for those who wish to build their own version of the product. You can learn more here.
