The Pegasus Astro SmartEye is a hybrid device that offers an advanced light-sensitive image sensor that transitions between Electronically Assisted Astronomy (EAA) and traditional eyepiece observing.
The SmartEye easily slots into a telescope focuser, just like a regular optical eyepiece. For more advanced imagers, SmartEye is also a versatile astro-camera capable of capturing long-exposures and storing raw astronomical files for later computer processing.
Thanks to its low-light sensitivity Sony IMX533 Color CMOS sensor, the Pegasus Astro SmartEye continuously scans astronomical objects using live stacking technology, dynamically improving the view of celestial objects in real time. Additionally, the image that you view in the eyepiece can also be viewed on your smartphone.
The SmartEye doubles as a versatile astro-camera, capable of capturing and storing raw astronomical files (FITS) for later computer processing. The SmartEye has been designed to seamlessly interface with the SkySafari mobile application to access additional features and delve into a wealth of knowledge about the universe.
