NEAF/NEAIC 2024

It’s time to start making plans for NEAF/NEAIC 2024! The two events will again be held at Suffern, New York just a short 30-minute drive from New York City.

NEAIC 2024

The Northeast Astro-imaging Conference (NEAIC) will kick things off with two days of seminars and displays of interest to those just getting started in astroimaging, as well as to the seasoned professional. Classes and workshops are tailored to cover all aspects of astronomical imaging and is organized on three tracks: expert, intermediate and beginner. There also are optional night-time workshops to provide hands-on learning.

NEAF/NEAIC 2024The event features leaders and acknowledged experts who will share their expertise in subjects such as extra solar planets, variable stars, minor planets, asteroids, comets, supernova research and more.

Representatives of major imaging-product manufacturers will be on hand to show off the latest equipment and to share their expertise in person. Registered attendees receive entrance to all NEAIC daytime activities, continental breakfast and lunch both days and a two-day pass to NEAF 2024.

NEAF 2024

The mecca of amateur astronomy, NEAF provides an opportunity for thousands of people to visit with over 120 vendors who will be on hand to share their products, advice and personal assistance on April 20 – 21, 2024. The two-day event will also include seminars, workshops, kid’s events, beginner sessions, door prizes, raffles and much, much more.

NEAF/NEAIC 2024The kid in all of us will enjoy the NEAF kids programming which provides an opportunity for kids to participate in a number of STEM learning activities. There will also be STEM education workshops for teachers and educators.

The event will celebrate the aftermath of the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse offering all day solar viewing which will allow attendees to safely see sunspots, solar flares and prominences through specialized solar telescopes. There will also be the opportunity to discuss the Sun and equipment with the NEAF solar team.

Those new to amateur astronomy will have the chance to learn all about telescopes and how to select the type of telescope best for them. There will be Astronomy 101 classes to learn the basics of astronomy and star-gazing. Attendees will also have an opportunity to watch and have hands on experience with telescope mirror making activities.
