A primer on telescope F ratios will be the subject this week on the Sky-Watcher What’s Up? Webcast.
The Sky-Watcher team will take a look at telescope F ratios and understanding their function when it comes to telescopes as well as dive into how telescope F ratios affect visual as well as photography.
The “F” ratio is the ‘speed’ of a telescope’s optics. The can be calculated by dividing the focal length by the aperture. The smaller the F/number, the lower the magnification, the wider the field, and the brighter the image with any given eyepiece or camera.
