Takahashi America has announced that its TSA-120 refractor is now available with a Starlight Feathertouch Focuser Kit. The TSA series is a member of Takahashi’s line of triplet refractors. In the TSA design, an ED glass lens is placed between two lenses, with air spacing in between. The resulting system achieves a high level of apochromatic performance for both visual observation and imaging.
The TSA-120 Triplet APO Refractor Telescope is a 120 mm apochromatic f/7.5 refractor with a focal length of 900 mm. The TSA is compatible with several flatteners, reducers and extenders, including the TOA-35 Reducer, which converts the telescope to a f/5.3 imaging platform with a 44 mm image circle.
The Feathertouch Focuser Kit for the Takahashi TSA-120 features the Feather Touch 3.0″ Diameter – Dual Speed Telescope Focuser. It offers 3.5″ draw tube travel, and brake, plus a TSA-120 tube adapter, and the M72 end cap compatible with Takahashi accessories.
Specifications for the Takahashi TSA-120 Feathertouch Focuser Kit include:
– Draw Tube Travel: 3.5″/88.90MM
– Lifting Capacity: 13-15 pounds
– Draw Tube Thread: M75X1 Female Thread
– Thread on Entry (OTA | FRONT) Side of Draw Tube M109X1 Male Thread

The Feathertouch Focuser Kit helps take the performance of the TSA-120 Triplet APO Refractor to the next level as it delivers superior quality optics and Takahashi performance, all in a portable package. This air-spaced triplet design achieves a high level of apochromatic performance for lunar, planetary and deep sky observing and imaging, delivering very high contrast images with pinpoint stars.
Inside the precision-crafted lens cell, you’ll find three elements, an FPL-53 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass lens placed between two air-spaced premium quality crown lenses. This telescope’s ED triplet optics yield excellent high-contrast images, free of chromatic aberration’s violet glow, which often accompany bright stars and planets.
The TSA-120’s short tube makes transport easy. The TSA-120’s versatile accessories all fulfill the requirements of rigidity and flexibility needed for imaging devices.
