The new Orion StarBlast Travel Refractor is an entry level telescope offering a 02mm (4″) achromatic refractor telescope outfitted with a full-length stainless steel tripod and two-way pan head as well as a number of accessories – all of which fit neatly into a solid carry case for convenient transport and storage.
TheStarBlast Travel Refractor package includes a 1.25″ rack-and-pinion focuser and a correct-image 90-degree diagonal. Also included are 25mm (24x) and 10mm (60x) Plossl eyepieces and a red-dot finder scope.
The sturdy, extendable tripod is made of stainless steel and has a center brace for added rigidity. An accessory tray fastens onto the center brace with a simple twist-lock mechanism. The two-axis pan head provides easy, smooth control of the telescope via the pan handle. Maximum eyepiece height is 51.5″ with tripod legs fully extended.
All of this gear fits neatly inside the carrying case, which has both hand straps and a shoulder strap. An enhanced kit is available which offers all of the accessories from the base model plus an Orion Shorty 2x Barlow Lens, Orion RedBeam Mini LED Flashlight, Orion Star Target Planisphere, and the 174-page Orion Telescope Observer’s Guide.
