Explore Scientific has introduced several new camera adapters for astro imaginers.
Included is a reduction adapter from M48x0.75 to M42x0.75 mm (shown in image). The adapter is designed for connecting T2 camera accessories with the smaller M42x0.75 thread to the larger M48x0.75 thread. It is ideal for adapting 2 inch color and nebula filters between camera and telescope.
Explore Scientific also now offers specific bayonet adapters (camera ring) for Nikon and Canon EOS which provide a M48x0.75 mm internal thread for astrophotography. By using the large thread M48x0.75 mm, the vignetting of a DSLR full format sensor is effectively avoided.
For Nikon DSLRs, when compared to the small T2 thread M42x0.75, this black anodized aluminum adapter has a free inner diameter of 41.2 mm. This camera ring weighs only 30 grams and the light path (overall length) is 8.0 mm. For the Canon EOS DSLR, when compared to the small T2 thread M42x0.75, the adapter has a free inner diameter of 47.5 mm. This camera ring weighs only 40 grams and the light path (overall length) is 10.0 mm.
And if you need to power your astroimaging rig, Explore Scientific’s USB Power Bank is the perfect accessory for those looking for a small, lightweight, 8.4 amp-hour, 12 V battery pack. With the USB Power Bank with Red LED Flashlight, you will have power to spare for your telescope mount, smart devices, cameras or other equipment in the field.
