The ZWO ASIAIR offers camera control for most ZWO ASI cameras using your smart phone or tablet. It offers the ability for standalone guiding and imaging without the need of PC.
The device can be used to control ZWO ASI USB 3.0 cameras, ASI cooled cameras, and ASI Mini cameras, an equatorial mount to do plate solving, and imaging with your phone or tablet/iPad when connected to ASIAIR via WiFi.
The ASIAIR’s dual-band WiFi functionality allows you to decide the best bandwidth (5G or 2.4G) for your location. 5G is faster for downloading, however 2.4G works better over shorter distances without obstructions such as walls.
The ZWO ASIAIR – in combination with your camera mounted on a GoTo equatorial mount and the ASIair App loaded on your Apple or Android smartphone or tablet – provides the ability to preview images in almost real time to check focus and framing, take an image, make adjustments to images with auto white balance, debayering, and histogram stretching, and store them on the included 32GB SD card. With the Skysafari app installed, you can use the app to control a mount through ASIAIR, choose the target and get ready to image.
Included are 4 USB 2.0 ports so that you can connect up to 4 USB devices without a USB Hub. The included 32GB Micro SD card carries the operating system for the camera and leaves 25GB of space to store images.
The ZWO ASIAIR works with all iPhones beginning with the 5s or later that are running iOS 9.0 or higher. All Android smartphones are supported that are running Android 5.0 or higher.
The ASIAIR is compatible with most computerized GoTo equatorial mounts. If you would like to utilize SkySafari to control your mount, you will need to make sure the mount is compatible with SkySafari.
Power is provided through a 5V power cable and, with the include DC Converter, you can connect the ASIAIR to a DC power supply such as a Celestron PowerTank.
