APM Spotting Scope

The APM Spotting Scope is a high performing APO that is perfect for the discerning birdwatcher and nature observer. This refined instrument features a three-element objective lenses, which provides a highly-corrected image, excellent optical performance and high-fidelity true-color images. The APM Spotting Scope line also feature high-quality Poro Prisms. Optics are fully broadband multi-coated throughout for maximum light transmission and contrast.

APM Spotting ScopeFocus duties are provided by a precision four-to-one ratio dual-speed focuser for exceptional accuracy. The stylish spotting scope body is constructed from robust but lightweight magnesium alloy, with a sliding dewshield/sun shade. The scope body is fully waterproof and nitrogen-filled for clear, fog-free viewing.

The supplied 7.5- to 22.5-mm zoom eyepiece is constructed from eight lens elements and provides a generous 18 to 20 mm of eye relief making it suitable for use with or without eyeglasses.

The APM Spotting Scope APO line is available in two apertures, 85 and 95 mm, both of which are supplied with a quality stay-on case and a standard tripod base.

The new APM APO 85-mm Spotting Scope (869EUR) has a focal length of 457.5 mm, at which the supplied 7.5- to 22.5-mm zoom eyepiece produces magnifications of 20x to 60x and an exit pupil range of 1.4 mm to 4.2 mm. Its close-focus distance is 4.5 meters, and its objective angle of view is from 1.1 to 2.2 degrees, or a field-of-view at 1000 meters of 20 to 38 meters. The 85-mm scope weighs 1.95 kilograms (4.3 pounds).

The APM APO 95-mm Spotting Scope (989EUR) has a focal length of 554.2 mm, at which the supplied 7.5- to 22.5-mm eyepieces yields a magnification range of 25x to 75x and an exit pupil range of 1.3 mm to 3.9 mm. Its close-focus distance is 6.5 meters, and its objective angle of view ranges from 0.9 to 1.8 degrees or a subjective angle of view of 44 to 68 degrees. The new 95-mm version weighs 2.33 kilograms (5.1 pounds).
