The Atik Infinity is Atik’s first camera dedicated to video astronomyAtik Infinity . The Infinity is available in either the mono or color version of the Sony ICX825 sensor, embedded with EXview HAD CCD II technology for outstanding sensitivity and Quantum Efficiency at a resolution suited to near real-time viewing.

The 6.45-µm pixel size is well-suited to a broad range of telescopes, while the slim, rectangular design ensures the camera can clear the base on fork-mounted scopes. The Atik Infinity is purpose designed to accommodate the widest variety of setups and users, from those just starting out in astronomy to the professional observer.

In addition to its video-astronomy applications, the Infinity can be used as a guide camera, featuring a standard ST4 guide port for direct connection to a mount. The Infinity is also fully compatible with all of Atik’s existing software packages, making it suitable for use as an entry-level imaging camera.

Atik also offer the Infinity Video Astronomy software, which offers a simple, intuitive user interface geared towards providing the best views with the least hassle. Live continuous stacking removes background noise to provide more of what matters, and flexible histogram adjustments make sure users never miss a detail.

Integrated broadcasting features take the hassle out of sharing images and voiceover, and live web chat creates a truly interactive experience. The software also features session record and interactive replay to provide full control of the display when sharing sessions with family and friends.

The Atik Infinity video astronomy camera comes out of the box with the camera body, a 1.25-inch adapter, Infinity Video Astronomy software, one 3.0-metre USB cable, one 1.8-metre battery power connector, a CD-ROM with drivers, software and user’s manual, and a quick-start guide. There is also an optional universal (110-230V) power adapter.
